Homestay
Kiwi Family Experience
A unique advantage of our programme is that both students and accompanying parents can stay with local Kiwi families. This immersive living arrangement enhances language skills, provides cultural understanding, and creates meaningful connections between Chinese and New Zealand families.
Through shared meals, daily activities, and weekend outings, students gain insights into Kiwi customs and lifestyle while developing independence and confidence in an English-speaking environment. Many students form lasting friendships with their homestay families, creating connections that extend well beyond their time in New Zealand.
Our comprehensive homestay arrangements include comfortable private bedrooms, nutritious meals, and reliable transportation to and from school, ensuring students can focus fully on their educational experience.
What Are the Qualifications of Homestay Families?
- Homestay families are school-approved and officially registered
- Host family homes and rooms meet required standards
- Family financial situation meets criteria
- Family circumstances are vetted by local education authorities
- Every family member must provide police background checks

What about meals?
Homestay families provide three meals a day. Lunch typically consists of sandwiches, while dinner is more substantial. Families serve local New Zealand cuisine and also prepare Asian dishes, making every effort to accommodate Chinese tastes.
What are the accommodations like?
Homestay properties are typically four-bedroom, two-bathroom homes. Our students are provided with private bedrooms and bathrooms, ensuring individual privacy.

How do students get around?
Homestay families are responsible for transporting students to and from school, and also provide one daily trip for accompanying parents. On weekends, families often take students to gatherings or outings, allowing children and families to experience authentic Kiwi lifestyle.
Weekend Activities
On weekends, we take students and their homestay families on group outings. Rather than visiting crowded tourist “hot spots,” we explore local towns, beaches, and countryside that Kiwis themselves love to visit, showcasing New Zealand’s natural beauty.
Activity One:
We organize “Lake Run Competitions” where students team up with their homestay families. This outdoor social activity promotes interaction between students and host families, creating lasting impressions. First, second, and third-place winners receive medals and gifts.

Activity Two:
We hold “English Short Video Competitions” where children document their life with homestay families, capturing interesting aspects of daily life and comparing different cultural concepts and lifestyle habits. This also develops students’ ability to express viewpoints through video. Winning students receive cash prizes and certificates.
Parent Accompaniment Programme
New Zealand Education regulations require students under ten years old to be accompanied by a guardian.
Accompanying parents can stay with their child in the same homestay family, eliminating the hassle of finding accommodation, renting cars, or preparing meals. This arrangement also allows children to engage deeply with their Kiwi family while parents are present, creating an immersive English learning environment.
For parent activities, we arrange school visits, sightseeing tours, and shopping excursions, with dedicated transportation and guides. We also introduce local educational resources to parents, helping them develop informed plans and arrangements for their children’s future international education pathways.
